INTRODUCTION
This lawn mower is a great purchase for anyone looking for a cordless electric lawn mower. We recommend the Greenworks 21 inch 80V mower based on features, build quality, and value! If you have a normal sized yard that can be mowed with a push mower, this is for you!
In the market, you will not find many mowers that can compete with this one, and for the price, we don’t think you can find better. The only complaint from reviews is the weight, but it does have wheels so you shouldn’t worry about the weight!

Smart Cut Technology
The smart cut technology is incorporated to help the mower adjust power depending on the thickness and height of the grass to be cut. This feature is great because it extends the amount of time your mower can run if cutting light grass, and helps to ensure a quality cut on thicker grass.
The 3-in-1 Discharge
This lawn mower allows for three forms of grass discharge allows which is very flexible, choose what you prefer:
- Mulching
- Rear discharge to allow for collecting the grass in the rear bag (bag is included)
- Side discharge to throw the cut grass out to the side of the mower
Ball Bearing Wheels
What exactly are ball bearing wheels you may ask? You don’t know how helpful ball bearing wheels can be until you have mowed with other kinds of wheels. The wheels on this mower are fantastic and help make your yard-work 10 times easier.
21″ Steel Deck
The 21 inch deck allows for more grass to be cut on each pass, giving you a shorter mowing time. The steel construction gives much more durability to the mower, but does add a small amount of weight.
7 Position Cutting Heights
This is our favorite feature. There are seven different blade heights to choose from on this Greenworks lawn mower. Not only do you have a ton of options for height, but you can adjust in one simple motion with the single lever height adjustment system.

Let us talk a bit about the warranty. Greenworks offers a stunning 4 year warranty on their lawn mowers that they declare as “double the industry standard“. This warranty is only 90 days if used for commercial use. So how can you complain right?
Greenworks is responsible and through their warranty will repair, replace or refund products that are determined to be damaged or defective, during shipping.

The features this lawn mower has are top of the line. For the price and quality, there are no real alternatives that can be compared. Greenworks offers many other battery powered outdoor tools so this could be the reason why they have put together such an outstanding lawn mower. 5 star ratings should not be given out easily, however this lawn mower is very deserving of the praise. As usual, when battery-powered electric mowers hit the market, us like everyone else were HIGHLY skeptical of their capabilities. Battery life, power, and durability were big concerns.
Snapper is a well-known lawn mower manufacturer that relies on extensive consumer research to design the best mowers available. It's safe to say that they've done it yet again with their latest creation, a 21-inch self-propelled cordless walk-behind mower.
This battery-powered product focuses on ease of use, light-weight design, and easy maneuverability to ensure it's performance as closely matches its gas-powered brethren as possible.
If you've got a relatively small lawn (1/2 acre or less), and grass that isn't ridiculously thick this mower is a great way to ditch your old gas guzzler. You'll appreciate clean cuts with no exhaust fumes, and your neighbors will appreciate quiet operation.

One of the First Self-Propelled Cordless Electric Mower

How does it perform?
One of the biggest benefits of owning a cordless electric mower is less weight. It makes them significantly easier to handle compared to gas-powered mowers. However, a downside is that many manufacturers compromise on build quality, engine size, and maneuverability just to cut down on weight.
Snapper made no such mistakes and instead opted to weigh in at a beefy 90 pounds. The weight of a Briggs and Stratton motor and steel deck helps you mow over bumps, ruts, and pits of any depth or height.
The product may need some initial adjustments to compensate for weight, but its durable frame and powerful motor make having extra weight a fair trade. In fact, this cordless mower's performance is comparable to gas mowers.
We would recommend that you upgrade both pre-installed 2Ah lithium-ion batteries that are included with your Snapper. Each battery can run the mower for up to 45 minutes after being charged for half an hour.
Swapping a battery is relatively easy as all you have to do is press a button to release the cell. While the included 82V batteries are sufficient for most users, it is compatible with 4Ah Snapper XD Max batteries for those who want more mowing time.
Larger 4Ah batteries take twice as long to charge but will keep your mower running for much longer. Long runtime is a direct result of artificial intelligence (AI) that adjusts power output depending on workload intensity.
When trimming your grass, it dials down power output to preserve battery life, but when you start to cut through thick weeds, a load sensor increases power output to slice through tough grass.
Final Thoughts
If you are looking for a way to go electric without sacrificing cutting power, Snapper is a terrific pick. Snapper offers lots of power, it's self-propelled, and you can easily mow up to 1/2 acre (more with thinner grasses) without recharging. Yes it's price point is similar to a gas mower, but you'll save money not buying fuel, and it will QUICKLY make up this difference.

Just in time for spring, Worx has released a 20″ cordless lawnmower for the homeowner on a budget. This eco-friendly electric mower runs off of two 5.0Ah 20V Max Power Share batteries, and with a 19″ cutting swath, this 40V mower can tackle medium-sized lawns up to 1/4 of an acre on a single charge.

WHAT MAKES IT SO SPECIAL?
This is the largest electric mower Worx has released, both in cutting deck size and power. This is good news for those folks who want to get their small to medium sized yards mowed in a hurry. The higher voltage provides increased torque, while the larger cutting deck means that you’re not making as many passes to get the job done. It even comes with 10″ rear wheels for easier mobility and traction.
It features a two-step electric start. Simply holding down the start button while pulling up on the bale handle will get the mower fired up.
The Worx 40V Lawn Mower allows you to mulch, bag, or send your clippings out the side of the steel deck. And, because Worx has included a Nutricut multi-cut blade, clippings get chopped up super fine. This allows the nutrients in the clippings to absorb back into the lawn more easily as fertilizer.
It also features a deck height adjustment that ranges from 1-1/2″ to 4-1/4″. Foam-padded handles make the job a bit more comfortable, and when you’ve finished mowing, the handle can fold over for stand-up storage.
The Worx 40V Lawn Mower retails for $349, either through the Worx website or through Amazon.com. It comes kitted with two 5.0Ah Power Share batteries – which are compatible with other Worx lawn and garden tools – and a charger. It comes with a 3-year warranty as well.
FINAL VERDICT
The Worx 40V Lawn Mower looks like a pretty solid deal for homeowners who want to transition to an electric OPE platform without dropping the big bucks to do it. The runtime sounds pretty decent, and for folks who work with lawns smaller than a quarter acre, this mower will likely get the job done.
For the sake of comparison though, EGO and Ryobi both have comparable models that are priced at $399 and $379, respectively. They both come with 5-year warranties, and, in Ryobi’s case, have a self-propel feature. Worx has priced their model lower than both of these, but there could be some tradeoffs in quality, features, and warranty that you might want to consider. We won’t know for sure until we get our hands on all of them in our upcoming cordless lawn mower shootout.
As it stands though, at $349, the Worx kit presents a compelling option for people who want to get into the cordless game at a reasonable price.
